Last week finished phase one of Jack Daniel’s “Red” fitness running plan, and this week starts phase two.
I have been feeling a bit ragged towards the end of the week with the running and the strength training, but I’m pushing through in the expectation that I’ll adapt.
With the additional fifth day of running, this phase adds a little bit of time at T-pace for the workouts compared to the last time through this training plan. My next few weeks will looks something like this:
- Monday: 10 minutes easy + 1.5 mile T with 2 minute rest + 10 minutes easy
- Tuesday: 30 minutes easy + 6 strides
- Wednesday: 10 minutes easy + 1 mile T with 1 minute rest + 1k T with 1 minute rest + 10 minutes easy
- Friday: 30 minutes easy + 6 strides
- Saturday: 50 minutes easy
No races planned in this phase, so sticking to the plan is the goal.
