This week I cooked the Beef with Broccoli recipe from Lopez-Alt’s The Wok cookbook.
I didn’t need any new ingredients for this one, and there was nothing particularly new in the directions either. You blanch the broccoli first, then stir-fry marinated beef, stir-fry the broccoli, return the beef with some aromatics, and then finish with the sauce.
The dish was quite good. My wife and I both enjoyed it. My son devoured the meat but had to be coaxed into eating the broccoli. My daughter ate it but wasn’t wild about it, but she doesn’t like meat-forward dishes or saucy dishes, so that is consistent.
I am cooking my way through J. Kenji Lopez-Alt’s The Wok cookbook. Read more about it.
