Finished A Gentleman in Moscow.
Honestly, this was a bit of a slog. The bulk of the book felt like apologetics for aristocracy, but I was told to keep going, it gets better towards the end. The plot did pick up towards the end, but I don’t know if it made the rest of the book worthwhile.
This past week began the second phase of my current training cycle, targeting the Atlanta Track Club Grand Prix Mile. Here’s the plan.
My website went down a couple of days ago. Apparently Dreamhost had moved my VPS which broke my custom Python installation’s reference to the system ssl module. Reinstalling my Python version (and re-creating my site’s virtual environment) fixed it.
This week I made the Chinese-Style Scallion Pancakes recipe from J. Kenji Lopez-Alt’s The Wok cookbook.
More work than the Korean-style batter pancakes, and I don’t know when I would make them again, but tasty. 4 stars ★★★★☆
I like to imagine that most of what our elected officials do is too boring to report….
And then I look at the list of things they tried to get through - are still trying to get through the back door - and I add another scar to my pitted, charcoal-blackened heart.
