I finished mapping the sunlight for this year’s side steps planting project a few weeks ago, and today I prepped the beds. The only other thing to do between now and fall planting time is to test the drip irrigation.
I have been repeatedly impressed by the marginal wood ferns (dryopteris marginalis) I planted this spring. More than once a fern had lost all its fronds (from falling branches, careless meter readers, etc.), looked dead for weeks, only for fiddleheads to appear seemingly out of nowhere.
Locally grown herbs, flowers and seasonal vegetable starts.
I’m going to have to check this place out
Some lessons learned for the next time I remove nandina domestica.
