I am continually amazed at the effort City of Atlanta is putting in to dismiss and block Cop City opposition.
For over two years, Atlantans across race, class, age, and neighborhood have united in opposition to Cop City. And, for two years, we’ve been ignored.…Now, we’ve come together to launch a ballot referendum to let the people of Atlanta decide.

The project has become an international embarrassment, with Atlanta and Georgia living down to a lot of the stereotypes other places have about the South regarding brutal cops, good ole boys and ambitious conservatives painting Black-led cities as crime havens.
A good reflection on the momentum against Cop City. I remain baffled by the city’s determination to push it through in the context of widespread opposition and consistent revelations of questionable (at best) process.
There’s been a lot of talk about crime in Atlanta of late; some perceive that it is spiraling “out of control”. But what do the crime data themselves have to say?
