The basement finishing project came to an official end this week. Here are some final photos.

Before & After

A photo of the basement before the project. The space is open and full of stuff. Several metal poles support the ceiling in the middle of the space. Another photo of the basement from the same position, but after the work has been done. The space is divided by walls and no metal poles are visible. Some of the poles have been removed, making an alcove towards the stairs.
Before & After 1
Another before photo from another corner of the basement. From this angle laundry machines are visible on the far side. Another after photo from the same second angle. The laundry is now in its own room. The door to it is visible.
Before & After 2
A third before photo from a third corner of the basement. From this angle laundry machines are visible towards the left and the exterior door is visible on the far side. The after photo from this corner. This position is now in the utility room. A door opens into it and the backs of the walls of the finished space enclose it. One of the remaining metal support poles can be seen.
Before & After 3
A fourth before photo from a fourth corner of the basement. The exterior door is visible and some windows. The after photo from this corner. This position is now in the laundry room. The angle looks through the laundry door and glimpses the same window as before.

The Main Space From Every Angle

A photo of the finished main space from one of the corners. This is a very similar angle to the first After image previously.

Another photo of the main space from a second angle. From this angle the window to the front yard with the built-in bookshelf is visible as well as the alcove towards the stairs and the door to the laundry room.

A third photo of the main space from a third angle. From this angle the same window to the front yard is visible as well as a window and door outside to the side of the house.

A fourth photo of the main space from a fourth angle. From this angle another window to the side of the house is visible.

The Laundry From Every Angle

A photo of the finished laundry room from one of the corners. Part of the washing machine is visible from the right side, with some panels built into the wall behind it that provide access to plumbing. On the far wall is a butcher block shelf with a cabinet underneath that provides access to the sump pump.

Another photo of the laundry room from a second corner. Both laundry machines are in this photo.

A third photo of the laundry room from a third corner. Parts of both machines are visible as well as the door to the room.

A fourth photo of the laundry room from a fourth angle. The butcher block shelf is again visible on the far wall.

The Utility Room From Every Angle

A photo of the changed, but still unfinished, utility room. The newly insulated exterior wall is visible as well as the HVAC and water heater.

Another photo of the utility room from a second angle. From here the new whole-house dehumidifier is visible, connected to the HVAC return.

A third photo of the utility room from a third angle. The door is visible from here as well as the unfinished backs of the walls for the finished rooms.

A fourth photo of the utility room from a fourth angle. The backs of the walls meet the exterior wall from this angle.

The Stairs From Below and Above

A photo of the finished stairs from the bottom, and the little alcove space at their foot. The doors to the utility room and laundry room open on either side of the alcove space.

A photo of the door to the basement from the main floor. The door is open and the lights are on in the basement.

We’ve had another very successful [home project]. So after all that hard work, it’s time to start preparations for [the next home project]!
