  This isn’t my favorite C.S. Lewis. Mostly I feel I don’t understand it.

  Finished Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

  The kids and I have read a Harry Potter book each summer for the past seven years. They are still enjoyable books. It’s a shame that Rowling has such bad views on gender identity. I don’t know the next time I’ll engage with her work.

  Finished The Way of Kings.

  It was…fine? My son loves this series, and I had so many strangers comment on how great the book is when I was reading in public. But I felt the plot dragged and the writing wasn’t great. Parts of the world were interesting and other parts felt cliche.

  I’ll read the next book in the series and hope I get more into it.
