Maybe all WebKit. Chrome is just where I found it, and I checked the behavior against Firefox while debugging.

So Chrome seems to have an issue with dynamically inserting something before an element with display: table-footer-group. Weird.
Programming has taught me that everything is more complicated than it seems.
